Sarah was off to Geneva's Biggest Loser workout in the parc (you'll have to ask her) so we decided to have an adventure of our own.
We found the zoo, this cute, little FREE zoo in Geneva. And a great kid park to boot. Unbelievable. You have to pay to use the toilette in some places here. A free zoo? Wow.
At any rate, we had a great time. We asked the goat why he was eating leaves. We asked why the peacock was on the bench.
We thought it was funny that the guinea pigs and bunnies were eating oranges and grapes just like Luc does.
We found the octopus's garden.
But the real hit of the day was when we saw a real life celebrity: Slinky Malinki! Slinky Malinki is the black, feline star of a few of Lucia's favorite books. We saw goats, longhorn sheep, owls, ducks, geese, swans, koi, ponies, burros, warthogs, pheasants and many other animals, but when asked what we saw today, she replies: "Did you see Slinky Malinki?"
Tonight, it is off to the Fete de Paroisse in town, which roughly translates into the Parish Festival. We are not looking to be converted at all, but they are serving some pretty good food from what we have seen in the advertisement. I mean, how often do we get to go to French/Suisse Protestant festivals? Who says we aren't opportunists? And if they DO try to convert us we'll give the old "on ne parle pas Français," which isn't too far from the truth.
We remain,
Team Malinki
Bonjour Team Malinki!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time, I am sure one of her favorites (if it didn't take 5 trains and 3 busses to get there!
I forgot to bring the newest Slinky Malinki with me so remind me when you are in town Jaime.
Love you all
The Nana
