Simply put: there is much too much to post from our trip to Spain. Remember the family slide shows where you had to see every sunset, landscape and wonderous, yet not-so-wonderous pit stop on your Uncle Bill's trip to the Grand Canyon projected from a 1970's Kodak Carousel slide master on a wrinkled sheet? Remember? The projector fan immediately warmed the room and caused your left eye to close involuntarily, followed by your right while Bill's monotonous, vocal cadence washed over the room like a tumbling, clothes dryer on low. You recall those, right?
This slide show would put that one to shame, but still. We'll try to keep it brief.
We had a blast! The trip was very much needed for us all. We were away from phones and computers and boxes and moving and invoices and shipping companies and immigration and...simply wonderful. We were sad to be away from Pepe, but he had a friend come visit him most days we were gone, so good all around.
Here is a snapshot of our days:
Wake up
Put on swimsuits, still cold and air blown from the night air off the sea
Walk downstairs and eat breakfast
Afterwards, one of us asks: beach or pool?
Walk in that direction
Repeat
S'illot, the town we stayed in, was beautiful. Here is a view from our apartment balcony. Not hard to wake up to, I tell you.
We did a lot of swimming:
And saw some animals at the Safari Zoo:
Some tree climbing:
And general good times in the sun. Honestly, if I wasn't working in Switzerland, the girls would already have moved there!
One more of the girl loving the sun and the carefree spirit of the island:
Spain? Check.
Au revoir,
Le ramassage d'épaves
Translation: "the beach combers." No "beach bums" in the French dictionary, go figure. They are an industrious lot, I tell you.
That is the cutest picture!!
