Something you wouldn't hear grocery shopping in the U.S

So Lucia and I went to France to get groceries the other day.  I was in the freezer section, and Lucia was a ways down from me trying to find glacee (ice cream). Anyway, I hear this loud voice excitedly saying " Look Mama, SNAILS!" That's right, there are bags of escargot in the freezer section, in their shells and everything, ready to take home.
