We've almost made it to the end of 2011! Merry Christmas to all our loved ones near and far away as we close out another year and usher in the new.
We've have had a wonderful few months here. We took a trip home to see family and friends, through the onset of fall which faded into winter, our first snow, some trips abroad and now the holiday season. Wow..time is flying here! In a couple days we will have been here 18 months.
Here are a few pictures from the last couple of months to catch you up on our adventures. The first pictures are from Chamonix, looking over at Mont Blanc in early fall. The first picture was when Lucia was having "Dad Time" as Sarah puts it and the picture "makes her sick to her stomach to look at". It seems like a huge drop off if she fell, but really only 10 feet or so. Whew, my Dad of the Year campaign is still in tact.
I love this picture of Lucia taken a little later when coming off the mountain. One, you can see the massive mountains we live in and around and two, I love the little carefree girl skipping along at 9000 feet in a sundress, without a care in the world.
Next came Halloween. Try finding a carving pumpkin in Geneva. I dare you. Or, even explain (in French) what you would like to do with a pumpkin. They look at you as if to say, "um yeah, we do 'coupe' our pumpkins and then we eat them. Damn foreigners." Anyway, after much searching we found three pumpkin-like things and had a go at it. Lucia loved her fingers in the seed goo most of all.
Next came our first snow of the year, punctuated by snowman making and sledding.
And now into the Christmas season: decorating the tree, making cookies and the school holiday pageant. Please note that this year she not only stood with the other kids at the front of the classroom, but wore her hat. Things are progressing!
And here is a little holiday cheer for you all, a song from Lucia's pageant and as far as we can make out, it's about a bear and a hedgehog lost in the snow. Or something.
Okay, I said she was progressing. Perhaps singing is reserved for next year's pageant?
And that is about all to report here. We wish you all the very best this holiday season and we send our love and cheer across the pond to you all.
Be well,
Le Suisse Trois
