In the news

Hello all,

For those of you who have a little extra reading time, here are some interesting articles that have surfaced recently about Switzerland.

Here is a great piece, courtesy of Fritz, about e-biking in the Swiss Alps (the article furthering Sarah's quest to procure her own electric bike)

And here is a cool, literary article about Romance era writers Lord Byron, Percy Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley on the banks of Lake Geneva one summer in the early 1800's.  A current writer follows their steps and finds some of the lake's hidden, and not-so-hidden gems.  (An interesting tidbit: Mary wrote Frankenstein that summer in a haze of opium and wine on the banks of the lake)

And finally, here is a recent report about world economies and their global competitiveness.  Interestingly enough, Switzerland came out on top again for the second consecutive year, while the US dropped to 5th.

Is it a coincidence that Switzerland's move to the top of the global chart coincides with us moving here?  Perhaps...but we wouldn't be surprised to find a formal "thank you" from the government in our mailbox any day now.
